TCE are approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New
Delhi. It was granted Autonomy in the year 1987. TCE has been accredited
by National Board of Accreditation.
TCE offers
seven undergraduate programmes, Thirteen Postgraduate Programmes and
Doctoral Programmes in Engineering and Science disciplines.
National Corrosion Council of India (ncci)
National Corrosion Council of India (NCCI), a forum for effective
dissemination of knowledge on corrosion and its control, is functioning
at the premises of CECRI since 1990. NCCI
organizes National Congress on Corrosion Control every year, covering
all aspects of Corrosion Science and Engineering, at important places,
for enlightening and increasing the awareness about corrosion of metals
and appropriate remedial measures to control it. There has been
overwhelming response from various sectors for the earlier Thirteen
congresses held at Karaikudi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi,
Kolkatta, Hyderabad, Kochi, Goa, Madurai, Vadodara, Visakhapatnam and
Mangalore. NCCI has also organized an International Congress on
“Emerging Corrosion Control Strategies for the new millennium” at New
Delhi, during February 20-22, 2002.
CENTRAL ELECTROCHEMICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE (CECRI)
CECRI is one of the chain of CSIR
laboratories and largest electrochemical laboratory in the world,
engaged in Research & Development in all the facets of electrochemical
science and technology. CECRI covers a gamut of fields including
Batteries and Fuel Cells, Corrosion Science and Engineering,
Electrochemical Instrumentation, Electrochemical Materials Science,
Electrochemical Pollution Control, Electrodics and Electrocatalysis,
Electrohydrometallurgy, Electro-pyrometallurgy, Functional Materials,
Industrial Metal Finishing and Nanoscale Electrochemistry.
CECRI assists the Indian industry by conducting surveys and undertaking
consultancy projects. The institute also conducts short-term refresher
courses for the benefit of the industry and academia. As part of its
human resource development programme, CECRI runs Anna University’s
B.Tech course in Chemical & Electrochemical Engineering. Researchers
from this part of the country make good use of the excellent library as
well as the state-of-the-art analytical and characterization facilities
at the institute. CECRI also organizes national and international
conferences for dissemination of scientific knowledge. CECRI is alive to
societal obligations and participates in such activities as entrepreneur
development and CSIR’s youth development programme. CECRI is recipient
of several technology awards for its service to Indian industry.
