CECRI is one of the chain of CSIR laboratories and largest electrochemical laboratory in the world, engaged in Research & Development in all the facets of electrochemical science and technology. CECRI covers a gamut of fields including Batteries and Fuel Cells, Corrosion Science and Engineering, Electrochemical Instrumentation, Electrochemical Materials Science, Electrochemical Pollution Control, Electrodics and Electrocatalysis, Electrohydrometallurgy, Electro-pyrometallurgy, Functional Materials, Industrial Metal Finishing and Nanoscale Electrochemistry.

CECRI assists the Indian industry by conducting surveys and undertaking consultancy projects. The institute also conducts short-term refresher courses for the benefit of the industry and academia. As part of its human resource development programme, CECRI runs Anna University’s B.Tech course in Chemical & Electrochemical Engineering. Researchers from this part of the country make good use of the excellent library as well as the state-of-the-art analytical and characterization facilities at the institute. CECRI also organizes national and international conferences for dissemination of scientific knowledge. CECRI is alive to societal obligations and participates in such activities as entrepreneur development and CSIR’s youth development programme. CECRI is recipient of several technology awards for its telling service to Indian industry.

PARADIP REFINRY PROJECT

Indian oil Corporation Limited is India’s largest Petroleum Reining and Marketing PSU Companu with ten running refineries all over the country. A new 15 MMTPA capacity gras roff refinery with latest State of Art Technology is under execution at Paradip, Odisha to cater to future market demand. This is the eleventh in line and the first oil refinery in the State of Odisha with an investment of Rs.30,000 Crores.

Indian oil constitutes 47% share in the petroleum product market, 34% share in total refining capacity and 67% downstream sector pipeline capacity in India. The Group’s combined refining capacity stands at 65.7 MMTPA.

Indian Oil is a “Fortune Global 500” company at 98th” rank and also India’s largest commercial enterprise. Indian Oil is India’s flagship oil company driven by more than 30,000 human capital assets, which also includes an elaborate. Research and Development Division apart from Refinery, Pipelines and Marketing Divisions.

Other than domestic demand, Indian Oil caters to needs of defense forces and exports to neighbouring countries, as well Indian Oil has established overseas presence in countries like Sri Lanks, Mauritius etc.,
